Cross-border cooperation in a creative approach to biodiversity promotion

Within the framework of the Interreg SK CZ call on Biodiversity, we, as lead partner and applicant, developed a project plan for a cross-border project with partners:

Creative Workshop ROBOTA Faculty of Multimedia Communications, Tomas Bata University in Zlín, https://robota.utb.cz/

Association LÍSKA, brings together the carriers of environmental education and ecological education and awareness (, eco-poradny on the territory of the Zlín and South Moravian regions). https://www.liska-evvo.cz/

Zaži Trenčín OZ – in the Brezina forest park in Trenčín they operate a street workout park, a forest classroom and an activity park

The project is about connecting the creative sector with the environmental and experiential sector to design, prototype, fabricate in our FabLab and place innovative green infrastructure elements in selected locations to support local biodiversity.

Subsequently, carry out awareness raising activities with the involvement of manufactured elements for biodiversity promotion mainly in urban urbanized parts of the city. A green creative coalition bringing together representatives of the creative sector and environmental and experiential organisations should be formed as part of the networking.

The total budget of the project is 509 thous. EUR. The evaluation of the project plan and the decision on funding under the Interreg SK/CZ grant programme should be made by 10/2024.

Budget: EUR 2.1M

The aim of the project is to promote sustainability and green technologies in the cultural and creative industries. Circular economy principles can also be applied to creative work by using recycled materials such as metal, glass, textiles and plastics. This is a challenge in terms of technology and the processing of materials that may not behave in a ‘technologically predictable’ way. On the other hand, they make it possible to reduce production costs and thus improve the competitiveness of entrepreneurs in the creative industries.

In the project consortium, we want to focus on establishing the principles of the circular economy and the use of recycled materials in creative work.
